Paving the Path for FM students and their careers.

The World Workplace Europe 2025 FM Student Challenge provides an unparalleled opportunity for students to develop their skills and abilities through a team challenge, connect with potential employers, and meet other FM students and young professionals.

A few weeks prior to World Workplace Europe, students will be teamed up to work on the challenge virtually. On 13 March, students will to pitch their solutions live in front of a jury at World Workplace Europe. The 2025 Student Challenge winners will then be announced on-site.

2025 FM STUDENT CHALLENGE TOPIC:

URBAN FM FROM A PLACEMAKING PERSPECTIVE

Involving FM in urban planning can make a difference and contribute to a sustainable, healthier and more inclusive society. This is beneficial to the health of both citizens and office workers and diminishes their chances of developing noncommunicable diseases (NCDs). However, more systematic research should be done on efficacious interventions and related circumstances and contexts. Furthermore, the experiences and capacities of the FM sector need to be unlocked and applied within a city context, as the knowledge and experiences of facility Managers and urban planners can be expected to create synergy. When facility Managers and urban planners jointly work on a research and health agenda, their cooperation can be a game changer in improving
the health of both citizens and office workers.

During the World Workplace Europe Student Challenge, we ask students to create an urban green for strengthening the community of the neighborhood of the Binckhorst in The Hague. The neighborhood of the 2025's venue The Fokker Terminal is developing quickly and help is asked to give this city innovations and development that will strengthen the community. More information about the area can be found via https://imbinck.nl/ or https://binckhorst-denhaag.

Students who are selected will have an opportunity to:

  • Receive complimentary tickets to attend World Workplace Europe on 12-13 March 2025
  • Network and connect with potential employers and FM professionals
